Ving Tsun Combat Science Auckland provides training for practical self-defence based on the Wong Shun Leung Method of Ving Tsun (Wing Chun). Learn practical fighting skills and confidence in a clear and logical manner, based on three critical principles:
- Simple
- Direct
- Efficient
- Developed to deal with a violent threat in a fast, efficient manner, whether that means completely neutralising the threat, or simply providing a means to escape and survive.
- Exploits body mechanics, laws of physics, and a combination of visual and contact reactions to be effective.
- Reactions are systematically programmed into the neural system to become natural movements, eliminating the need to consciously think what to do when under a violent attack.
- Works most effectively when used at a close counter-attacking range in an aggressive manner, to overwhelm the attacker and neutralise them, or give you a chance to escape.
Using a practical and efficient approach towards self-protection, students are progressively introduced to a set of logical fighting principles. They are shown how to apply these principles in various attack scenarios, starting at an easy-to-understand pace with little force, then increasing the intensity and pressure as the practitioner’s proficiency improves. Everyone learns in a comfortable environment where they can dictate their own speed of progression.
Although Ving Tsun Combat Science Auckland promotes the efficiency of survival combat, we do not promote violence. It is a fact that violence can happen to good people anywhere. Our goal is to offer tools in preparation to survive a violent confrontation, if ever needed. We should never plan to engage in violent life-threatening confrontations, but it is good to be prepared. When you consider a threat on your own life, and/or your family’s lives, safety and well-being, you would wish that you had trained every single day, for that one moment, where you had a chance to change the outcome, and protect yourself, or those you love.
